I believe that some of life’s top stressors, after death and divorce, can include buying or selling a house. Three years ago, I thought I was getting a deal on a dream home after looking for six long months! It had everything I wanted, including a swimming pool, gardens, a low crime neighborhood, and even a turtle habitat! Buying it from a little old couple made me believe it was a well-cared-for home. Little did I know, I was buying into a karma that became a nightmare, including a legal battle, among other things! When I decided to stay in Las Vegas, selling the house and not losing money became my first goal. I found your business card on the bulletin board at work, and as an FBI employee, we are often leery about trusting and doing business with someone who hasn’t been recommended by another employee. When I called you and started out with, ‘Who do you know at the FBI?’ I knew we’d get along just fine. Your card was placed there by my supervisor, and I knew you had to come highly recommended and respected for her to place it there. Elizabeth, after talking to you on the phone, I felt completely at ease and looked forward to our meeting. As a retired U.S. Marine with 30 years of service and after working in law enforcement for 16 years, I tend to keep my guard up. We set up an appointment for you to see the house, and when you arrived, I found a cheerful, well-organized, friendly, professional woman whom I could relate to right away. You did your homework and came prepared with a beautifully put-together binder and all the stats. I told you exactly what I wanted to do with the place, and you were more than willing to accommodate my wishes. I wanted to list the house above the market, show by appointment only, and make arrangements to rent it instead if it meant losing money with a lower price. You went over everything step-by-step with me, but I never felt pressured into making any immediate decisions.
Once we got started, I could not have asked for a more attentive agent! The sign post went up the day we agreed. The beautiful sales folder you made up of the property was something I’ve never seen anywhere before! You kept me posted and always immediately after any activity, appointments, and feedback you received. I never had to wonder, ‘What’s happening with the house?’ With your careful planning and advice, weighing all the options, we decided to lower the price the day I moved out, and much to my surprise, we got a contract that day! And much to my and my neighbors’ excitement, it was way above the appraised and market value, and the highest sales price in the neighborhood in the last four years! To say the final negotiations and closing weren’t stressful would be a lie. It’s just one of those life’s stressors! But you handled everything with the calmness and professionalism that is rare in business today. I can honestly say, I am more than satisfied with the outcome. THANK YOU for everything! It was luck (or karma) finding your business card, among all the others, on the bulletin board that day. I not only found a dynamite real estate agent, but I also found a friend who I would be more than happy to highly recommend to anyone looking for the right person to buy or sell their home. Eric met one of your agents, Elizabeth Moreau, at a presentation she did at Nellis Air Force Base. He informed Elizabeth that we just sold our home in South Carolina and told her I would be calling her. When I called Elizabeth, she had someone from USAA call me back immediately. We were approved for our loan within minutes. We were so impressed by Elizabeth’s professional, but caring attitude toward us.
